Dealer Comments
The 2027 Hyundai Kona SEL Sport is designed with family life in mind, offering seating and cargo flexibility that makes school runs, weekend outings, and daily errands simple and stress-free. Its two-row SUV layout provides easy access to the rear seats, supporting child seat installation and offering ample space for strollers, sports bags, or groceries. The Black interior adds everyday durability, while the Abyss Black Pearl exterior keeps it looking sharp for family events and get-togethers.
Parents and family decision-makers will find this SUV especially practical for balancing work commutes with family schedules. The Kona’s split-folding rear seats allow quick adaptation between hauling gear for afterschool activities and carrying larger loads during family road trips. In warmer climates like Lakeland, FL, features such as automatic temperature control and a rear window defroster contribute to comfort for all passengers, keeping the cabin comfortable and ready for changing weather.
Driving the Kona SEL Sport is a smooth and efficient experience, thanks to its 2.0L I4 DOHC 16V engine paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. This combination delivers predictable power for city and highway driving, making merging onto busy roads and maintaining a steady pace on long journeys feel effortless. With an EPA city rating of 28 MPG and 35 MPG on the highway, families can count on fewer stops for fuel during their daily routines or longer weekend getaways.
Safety is a top priority for families, and the Kona delivers peace of mind with a suite of active safety features. The SUV is equipped with dual front and side impact airbags, overhead airbags, electronic stability control, ABS brakes, and traction control to help protect every occupant. Active driver aids like the exterior parking camera rear, brake assist, auto high-beam headlights, and a low tire pressure warning system further support parents in ensuring safe arrivals, whether backing out of tight school lots or driving at night.
This SUV comes with a host of family-friendly conveniences, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless device integration, heated front bucket seats for comfort, remote keyless entry, and a leather steering wheel for a touch of style. The automatic temperature control and front dual zone A/C ensure comfort for both driver and passengers. SiriusXM radio, a 6-speaker audio system, and steering wheel-mounted controls provide entertainment and ease for longer drives. A rear seat center armrest and split-folding seats add practicality for growing families.
Against competitors like the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross, the Kona SEL Sport stands out with its combination of efficiency, comfort features, and advanced tech. While the HR-V and Corolla Cross offer strong reputations, the Kona’s engaging design and user-friendly infotainment elevate it as a high-value choice for families who want both reliability and a fun-to-drive experience, all while protecting what matters most.
Common questions include: Is the Kona practical for family life? Yes—easy-to-use LATCH anchors and split-folding seats streamline car seat installation and cargo adjustments. How safe is it for younger drivers? The vehicle’s stability control, ABS, and multiple airbags work together for peace of mind.
